“Baile de Tehuantepec” –Diego Rivera
A little art history combined with a little bit of OTM Fun
Diego Rivera, famed Mexican artist, muralist, painted the original “Baile de Tehuantepec” (image above) in 1928, measuring 19 inches by 24 inches; unlike his larger scale murals he is widely known for. He wanted his art to depict, “…the pure basic images of my land. I wanted my paintings to reflect the social life of Mexico as I saw it, and through my vision of the truth to show the masses the outline of the future.”
